Page Title MetLife Foundation

MetLife Foundation has contributed over $12 million for violence prevention and education initiatives. For several years, the annual MetLife Survey of the American Teacher addressed the growing problem of violence in America's public schools. As a result, MetLife Foundation launched a competitive program for nonprofit organizations and universities to develop community-based youth violence and prevention efforts. The Foundation also supports programs that provide safe after-school activities, forums on preventing youth violence, and the development of school and community violence prevention videos and print materials.

By supporting the American Psychological Association's ACT—Adults and Children Together—Against Violence initiative, MetLife Foundation demonstrates its commitment to violence prevention education and to making parents, teachers, and caregivers aware of the important role they play in forming children's habits and attitudes about violence. MetLife Foundation, established in 1976 by Metropolitan Life Insurance Company, contributes to health, education, and civic and cultural programs throughout the United States. For more information about the Foundation, please visit the MetLife Foundation Web site.
